SUCCESSES

"Seven family members walked or ran in the Spring Run Off. My brother and I, two each from both of our families have qualified for the Pikes Peak Ascent. We have now begun our training together each month to work up to the Ascent. It is really great to have all of us exercising and training together!"


"In March we traveled to Texas and Oklahoma and were able to do some hiking and many long walks. It was fun to see some beautiful sites and get exercise at the same time!"


"Started swimming in January as I train for my first triathlon. Up from barely making across one length to 50 lengths :)"


Recently, my coworkers and I have started a "Get-Out-and-Hike" club. Every two weeks, or so, we find an interesting trail in Colorado to explore. We even use snowshoes when the trails are covered in snow. In addition to being a lot of fun, these outings have improved our work group's sense of unity and overall health.

Pueblo Health Challenge vs. The Pueblo Commuter Cup

The Pueblo Health Challenge will run all year long promoting activity, volunteering and wellness classes.   POINTS for monthly drawings and recognition all year:

  • Miles walked or run: 1 point/mile
  • Miles biked: 0.4 points/mile
  • Commute miles: bonus 0.2 points/mile for helping foster safer streets with more bikes/pedestrians visible and avoiding pollution
  • Other hours of exercise: 4 points/hour (cannot submit time and miles for the same exercise - either one way or the other)
  • Volunteer hours: 2 points/hour (CAN submit volunteer time and exercise time if you volunteered to lead a walk or ride, walked & picked up trash)
  • Wellness class hours: 2 points/hour

The Commuter Cup is a special challenge within the Health Challenge for May and June during National and Colorado Bike months.  Special prizes and recognition for worksite teams and individuals at Farmer's Market on July 5th
